Sony MDR-7506 headphones |
With exception of the EEG Labs, headphones are the standard audio delivery system in our labs. In dedicated audio labs, such as the Sound Recording Lab and the VoiceKey Lab, headphones are part of the standard equipment. In other labs (e.g. Cubicles), you can borrow one of our recommended headphones (listed below) from your Lab Coordinator.
Specifications
Usage
Participant in lab with control room:
- Plug the headphones into the 6.3mm or 3.5mm jack extension cord in the lab.
Participant in lab without control room, or Experimenter control room monitoring:
- Plug the headphones into the 3.5mm jack port on the front of our Lab Computer.
In labs with an Audio Interface, the headphones are connected to the interface (main stereo or phone output).
ℹ️Left and right side are usually labelled on the ear-cup or headband. On headphones with a cable on one side (e.g. Sony MDR-7506), the cable is almost always on the left.
⚠️When using the headphones for time-critical audio stimuli, please (ask the TSG to) check your audio settings and scripts before running your experiment.
