Observation in Labs
When conducting observational studies in the labs, camera and audio recordings can be set up using the equipment and software described below.

Using the Experiment Control Computer
To use cameras and audio recordings in the Bar lab or Observational labs, follow these instructions:
- Turn on all the green switches and the experiment control computer.
- Once logged in, open OBS Studio.
- On the bottom left, you will see a panel called "Scene". In that panel, you can select a configuration that has already been created (e.g., 2 cameras, 3 cameras, ...). You can also create a configuration yourself. If so, you will also need to indicate the source for which specific cameras you would like to record from.
- Once you have selected the configuration, in the "Source" panel (bottom centre) you can double-click on a specific camera if you want to change the angle and zoom. After double-clicking, select "Configure Video" and then "Camera Control". Change zoom, tilt (up/down) and pan (left/right) according to what you need. Note that focus is automatic.
- You can change the recording path (where your data will be saved) to a local folder of your choice. Please do not change the recording path to your working group folder: the uploading is not fast enough for videos.
- You can then press "Start Recording" at the bottom right, whenever you are ready.
- Once done, remember to upload the data to your work group folder, and to delete it from the local folder.
Adding Audio Recording
- To record audio, you can use Hollyland.
- Connect the receiver to the experiment control computer via the cable.
- The pairing between the receiver and the mic is automatic.
- If you have selected a pre-made scene with audio, the communication with OBS Studio is automatic. If you have created the configuration yourself, you will need to add the Hollyland as audio in source.
