 Sennheiser MKE600 |
The Sennheiser MKE600 is a small condenser shotgun microphone, typically used in cases where a microphone cannot be placed close to a speaker's mouth.
The MKE600 can be placed on top of a camera, or boomed overhead. For the latter, we like to use a Rycote INV-7 HG Mk III shockmount, for better reduction of contact noise than the included mount.

Usage
- Put the MKE600 microphone on a camera or boom arm.
- Connect the MKE600 microphone to a camera, audio interface or recorder via XLR cable or the XLR to 3.5mm adapter.
- Turn on phantom power, or turn on the internal battery power with the switch on the microphone (do not install a battery if using Phantom Power!)
- Point the microphone towards the sound you wish to record.
You can turn on/off the low cut filter with the switch on the microphone. The low cut filter helps to reduce wind and handling noise with frequencies below 100Hz.
Consult the TSG when wishing to suspend the microphone overhead. They can provide you with appropriate boom arms and clamps.
