Clear COM ports

This page is meant as a quick reference for resetting or reassigning COM ports.

Windows

1. Run CMD as Administrator.
2. Enter set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
3. Enter start devmgmt.msc
4. Select “Show hidden devices” in the ‘view’ menu.
5. Uninstall the devices currently assigned to the unused COM ports.
6. To assign new COM port: Right click on device -> Properties -> Port Settings -> Advanced -> COM Port Number
